will a 1994 evinrude 200 hp lower unit work on a 1984 evinrude 150 hp. looks like all bolts will be the same but will they be geared different? thanks for any feedback.

Use the shift rod and height for the 150 its going on and you are good to go. Grease the splines good because you will not have an O ring on the 94 shaft.<br /><br />Good luck!

thanks for the info dhadley but what do you mean height? and did you say i need to take the shift rod off my 150 and put it on the 200 to work?

Yes. Use the shift rod from your crossflow because the looper rod is different. <br /><br />Your service manual will give you the correct height adjustment for the shift rod in neutral. This is VERY VERY critical if the gears are expected to last.<br /><br />Good luck!

thanks for the help. are all factory lower units geared the same? will i be able to tell a difference?
