I posted a question the other day concerning my ignorance, I purposely plugged the float bowl vent thinking it was one of the holes that was supposed to be plugged with a lead shot. Through the genius of iboats I learned the errors of my ways.
Question: The float bowl vent goes through the side (under the throat of the carb), mays a 90 degree turn straight down. There is a gasket between the two parts of the carb, there is no hole in the gasket to accomodate this vent hole, nor is there a corresponding hole in the bottom part of the carb to match this hole anyway. So, what is the purpose of this vent? It seems to be a hole to nowhere.
