Follow Up - Model Number of Outdrive on "Only reverse gear question"

Having a bad morning... Not only typed the wrong boat model (not that that matters) but forgot to put the outdrive's model number:
Boat is a DL-190 not a 120

Outdrive is a 1990 OMC Model # 986321

Also meant to mention - The shifting was a bit 'tight' feeling on this unit when I got it recently, doesn't hang up or anything but certainly not a 'shifts with a finger' deal either - But as mentioned, shifted fine, went to neutral fine, forward fine, reverse fine all day 1st time out in it until we came into dock, then stuck in reverse only no matter which direction you threw the shifter lever up front.

Once again, THANKS in advance for any useful hints or info!

Edit: For your protection ;)

Hi Levinz,
?? No idea why, that's my correct number. (EDIT)
No telling guy, good 'ol Comcast... I'm surprised they didn't route you to a Pizza Hut in Russia their service is so lousy...

Anyway... Found an honest local guy to look at it - spent awhile digging and testing and low and behold found the issue - 1 tiny cable retention screw!
The screw that locks the cable into the eyed end where it attaches to the throttle body arms was allowing the cable to slip out...
Found the issue, tightened it, ran to the dock and launched and the darn thing worked perfect (still very tight/hinky/stiff shifting though) for about 500 yards until I stopped and went to reverse to keep testing and sure enough it came off again - Put it back on, minor adjusting to get into the exact right position and eased back to dock - Going out to dig up a new cable arm end today or even just going to try just a new screw to see if that is the only thing messing up, right?
(Guessing I'll need an entire new end as the only reason that screw should be going loose is if the threads are worn, right?)

Going to start tracking down 2 new cables to install I guess, hopefully that will fix the 'hard to move' shifter level up front...

Feel free to give me a shout if you have any words of wisdom...

Paul
