This might just be right up there with the dumbest question award but I have been searching for some time only to not find any answers. Since you fogging the motor to prevent corrosion inside the motor and for storage you are suppose to spray some rust preventive on the exterior to help eliminate corrosion from moisture build up, is it ok to use fogging oil to lightly coat the exterior as well?

Yes you can use fogging oil as it spreads over the surfaces. Normally the exterior of the engine is painted and putting oil on it removes the paint so the metal is exposed to the elements and can rust. If it's painted it's fine. Where some rust shows up then you can put a bit of rust prevention there.

I spray the entire exterior of my engine with fluid film... Safe for painted surfaces and doesn't dry up or run off :)

If your boat is stored outside it's important to cover it to protect from rain/sunlight/UV, which can be rough on plastics, vinyls, painted surfaces. The auto parts stores carry waxes/polishes with some UV protectors in it...Good Luck!;)

Spoilsofwar, I read about that in a different thread that someone else suggested using. I think just to be safe I might just go that route.

Robert, I was only wondering about spraying down the exterior of the motor with it. I wouldn't even think about spraying down anything else.
