John, spray directly into the carb at fast idle. If you are doing this for winterizing , put a good stabilizer in your gas and fog your engine and you should be set. Along with changing oil in lower unit. Punch the red search button and type in fogging,has several post on winterizing and fogging. <br /><br />Taz
