I have a 94 Sea Rayder sportjet 90 hp boat. Wondering what the foam on either side of the jet output is for. The left side is coming out and wondered if it would be ok to push it back in or do I need to remove something to insert it back in place? Thanks in advance

I am not familiar with your particular boat, but most foam is USCG required flotation foam.

This is one of those instances where a picture is worth a thousand words. I have the exact same boat and there is no sign of any "foam" anywhere near the jet output.

Wait, that's on the OUTSIDE of the boat, or the inside??

The foam is to seal off the exhaust between the pump housing and the boat. It is a poor design by Mercury. Pull the foam out on both sides and use spray foam in a can like Great Stuf. Try not to get the foam to far forward of where the foam pieces came out of.
