Flywheel Timing help. 1976 20hp Merc

When working on my throttle I undid the 8 bolts on top of the fly wheel to remove it. I need help learning how to line it back up correctly. Throttle setting, line marks, etc. Motor is a 1976 mercury 200 (20hp)

the key way will only line up one way with the flywheel.:facepalm: did you take it all the way off or just remove the plate that the re-wind engages too. either way it only goes on one way..

You can often look at rust / stain marks to see where it was.
