Re: Fly Wheel
Just had to pull the flywheel on my '83 235 to replace a "bad" stator... At any rate, keep tightening the puller, until you're fearful that another pull, and the puller bolts will pop or pull the threads out of the flywheel...

THEN...give it a good whack or two directly on top of and squarely on the head/end of the main, or center bolt of the puller... On mine, the marina mechanic which I was assisting (didn't happen to remember to buy and take one of those handy pullers with me) doing mine (while in the middle of the lake on vacation) finally had to tow me to the marina, and resort to using an air wrench to get enough load on the puller to make the flywheel pop...

NOW comes the REALLY important part!!!!! MAKE SURE, AND DOUBLE-DOUBLE CHECK TO MAKE SURE... THAT YOU PROPERLY LINE UP THE KEYWAY WITH THE FLYWHEEL AND THE CRANKSHAFT WHEN YOU RE-ASSEMBLE !!!! WHEN THEY "SPIN" and thye will if not lined up... SPUN FLYWHEELS, AND KEYWAYS ARE NO FUN TO FIX...
