So i am thinking about purchasing my first float tube to get me on the water for some fly fishing and spin fishing. This would be my first float tube purchase, and I am wondering if people have a certain tube that they would Recommend. I am 6'2 255 pounds, so the one I buy will need to accommodate such. I have been looking at a few for sale, and I am just interested to hear how people like using theirs.

I used to fish from a truck inner tube with a board tied to the bottom of it. Almost killed my wife with it one day. I stuck a five pound bass (in warm weather) and for awhile it was a toss up on who was going to win. My wife, watching from the bank, almost died laughing.

Given your ample proportions you might want to at least consider a raft. Since you're asking about float tubes I'll assume you don't plan on going through any significant white water, which means you won't have to spend much more than you would on a good float tube and you'll have a lot more room to spread out without sacrificing too much in the way of stealth and agility. You can also use a small outboard or trolling motor with many of the fishing rafts available. Just a thought.

i'd recomend one of those little pontoon boats. i've got one that folds up into a backpack and it was the best investment i ever made. you can take em anywhere and you don't even have to get wet.

There was a description of that in one of the scout magazines when I was a kid except instead of the board, it was a cut triangle from another tube.:D
Pretty comfortable.:)

I also have an arrow backpacker pontoon and it's great, weighs 42 lbs. and sets up in minutes. with camping gear, food and tent I'm under 100 lbs. If you cant pack 100 lbs. stay on your couch.
