fly fishing equipment recommendations

I lost all of my gear to a fire at the family cabin a few years ago. I've replaced much of what was lost, and am ready to get new flyfishing gear. The problem is that I can't recall for sure what I used before - though I suspect it was a 6-7 weight setup.

In any event, I plan to use it for fish panfish but I'm not sure if I should go with a 5 weight setup, or a bit heavier with a 6 or 7 weight setup. I generally fish from a boat if that makes any difference.

Opinions?
