Other than running it in a barrel; is there a way to flush my motor?

Tempo products made a flusher kit some years ago that clamps onto the intake, but it is no longer available. But there is hope.

Your motor should have a plate held on by 2 screws above the cavitation plate on the starboard side. This plate is on many of the motors back in those years. Look at my "LeeRoy's Ramblinbgs" http://www.sschapterpsa.com/ramblings/OMC_6hp.htm. There I show how to make a flush adapter that fits where this plate is.

not really dvdwn. These vintage motors were meant to be run in a barrel/test tank. They can't really run on muffs. They used to make a conversion kit, but I don't think they do any more.
