Are there kits available or is it possible to make something up that will flush out a 4.3MPI without using muffs. Somehow connect garden hose in engine compartment. Could it be accomplished without running engine by feeding on both sides of the thermostat? Boat is moored in salt water and swim platform makes it impossible to put muffs on while in the water.

I assumed it was possible, do you know any specifics? Is it as simple as tee-ing in on both sides of thermostat and letting each side flush for a few minutes. Why would you need a through hull? Is there a danger of back filling engine through exhaust?

Ayuh,.... Forgetabout the T-stat housin',....

To flush the system, ya gotta T-in back on the transom,....
Ya need a thru-hull to get rida the raw water the Alpha is gonna be pumpin' while yer flushin' on the hose,...

look up Superflush SF-400 http://www.superflushsales.com/sf-400.html. used one on my SeaRay. met the guy who invented it back in 2008. it worked great.

Dont do it, they clog up and the block and manifolds dont drain.

BT Doctur, that looks like one of the knock-offs made out of aluminum. the ones that I have used are 15% GF nylon.

I had mine on the boat for 3 years prior to selling the searay. used it every time i took the boat out prior to putting away. never had a problem plugging.

Would does the engine have to be running? Why not flush it with engine off then no harm to impeller. I assume the only reason to normally run engine is so thermostat opens so why not just feed water on both sides of it?

Well , you should have seen the fittings I removed from the engine block, They were both plugged solid and you were neither flushing the motor nor draining the motor
