Hi there!
I bought an old johnson 15hp-1990, which was not regularly flush from salt.
Can I use automotive additive (Holts Speedflush) with 3-4gal. of warm water??
The gear box is removed for repair,so i can connect а pvc hose directly to coper tube, project to use a small aquarium pump for water circulations in the engine-without starting it and with removed termostat.
I want completely to clean the rust and salt from cooling system without disassembling the powerhead (the gaskets looks fine and compresion is 110psi on both cylinder).
sorry for not good English...;);)

I wouldn't use that stuff. Here, there's a flushing product called Salt Away which is made for marine motor flushing.

Water is the solvent for salt. Nothing is a solvent for corroded aluminum without eating away the good stuff at the same time.

You mean, cars additive will remove salt, but also will remove corroded metal ?
So if i cant find nothing like salt-away,the better and safe way is only to ride engine in the river, after time water will do the job...?!
