fluid for tilt and trim

my service manual says use dextron trans fluid.my motor is a 1985 120. I know the manual is 20 yrs old, but does this still apply for today? thanks all

Dextron is fine,but if you purchase the Johnson/Evinrude TNT Fluid,you can put a small hole on the end of the tube,and it will be easy to 'squirt' into the resevoir.I buy it in gallon jugs and 'squirt' in in with an oil can,but this may not be cause effective for the one motor owner.<br /><br />DHP

thanks but will it conflict with the fluid thats in there now? its clear. do I have to drain it all out?
