he was down, his board and sail may have attracted the sharks.

The news said there were "thousands of sharks" schooling off the Florida coast, when he hit the water things went very badly for this guy, sharks chewed him up and he bled to death a bit later. There's gotta be better ways to go than that!

true the do school up this time of year, waiting for the waters to warm, and they move along.

Sorry for the guys friends and family. No wonder there are so many kiteboarders in the Columbia River Gorge. More wind and no sharks.

Therer are sure no guarantees.
We lost a guy some years ago here in Ontario, in one of the Great Lakes, to a Muskie.

saw the news tonight, the aerial footage showed a huge school of sharks, he did not have a chance.

It may well be cold up here but we do not have gators or sharks to worry about.

Are you serious ??? Never heard of a musky attacking humans ... how big was that "thang" ?

I think it was Lake Huron.
Group of 5-6 guys swimming off a beach, muskie attacked one of them. His buddies clubbed the fish and got him and fish out of water...it was 60 pounds +.
Victim was a haemophiliac and bled to death.
Clearly not as physically damaging as a shark attack, but I guess a 60 lb. muskie can do same damage.
