Do you seat the hub parts together before installing on the prop shaft?
In other words, do you press/hammer them together?

I have read that some people do.
Have also read that it is not needed.
Just install, then torque to 100 ft lb to seat, then back off the nut, 55 ft lb being the minimum.

The reason I ask is that last fall during fall maintenance, I found that my delrin insert was cracked in several places, like I had a hard prop strike. The prop was a tiny bit loose. But my prop shows no damage at all.
I was thinking that my install may not have been done correctly.

What is the proper way to install?

Or what do you do?

Flo-Torq II install:
!. install and align all of the components. No hammering should be involved. They should slip right into place.
2. Tighten the prop nut to the specified torque value ( 55 lb ft according to the instruction sheet ).
3. Tightening to 100 lb ft is wrong, even though it was probably posted somewhere on the interweb.

Any ideas on what could have caused my insert to crack 2" up the sides?
I thought maybe it wasn't fully seated when I installed the prop.

Good video library there.

I've been told to tighten to 100 then back off, but I haven't done that.

I've also been told to tap/hammer them together, but always thought they slid together just fine.

But I do see that the pros tap them together in the videos.

I guess I've been doing it right, but can't figure out how my sleeve got cracked without any damage to the prop.
