flip Penta SX-A to counter rotation

Can ALL SX drives be flipped for counter rotation?

My SX-A shift mechanism only has holes on one side and the shaft does not go all the way through the case like I've seen on other penta drives (perhaps newer), so I cant simply move the rod to the other side.

Perhaps moving the pivot at the controls?

Most counter rotating gearcases have a better bearing on the rear gear to allow for full speed running. I doubt you can switch them with the shift rod. You should check SEI. They sell new gearcases of both types.
