Flat Swim Deck on Faceted Transom?? Can it work?

The family has been really jonesing for a swim deck. The custom fiberglass jobs are too expensive for our boat. They would cost nearly as much as she is worth.

I found this one....Teak dive platform

It's 72" wide and 18" deep. The width is perfect but my transom is faceted (correct term?). The center where the outdrive lives if flat and sides are angled. Looks like about 4-5" of space would be between the swim deck and the transom at the outer most point. Can I make this work with brackets or spacers of some sort?

Thanks!

It might work if you can cut it to fit snuggly around your transom. This is how mine is cut.

Yep. Use the frame and cut your own wood to fit the boat. That one would work but the gap could present a hazard if someone tried to step there.

After a second look I'm not sure about the ladder being in the center over the outdrive either. If somebody forgot to put it up it could be bad.

Think I'll pick it up tomorrow and get to seeing how I can make it fit.

The ladder would definitely be moved.

DRS that's very nice work. I unfortunately have zero wood working skills. I guess its always a good time to learn, though.

I believe I do. One of before and 2 of after. It was on the boat when I bought it. All I did was take it iff, use an orbital sander with 80 grit and then 100 grit sandpaper to smooth it out. Had to do some hand sanding between the slats.
I have put probably 10 coats of teak oil on it since mid January. I put a coat on every day for a week, then once a week for a month, and now doing it once a month for a year.
