I was reading another thread. It was about a clean spark plug/ water into cylinders. My question is do ALL v6/v8 engines come with this type of in line flapper system?? Would having flappers stop hydro locking when an engine back fires at start up?? Last question, Do these flappers come before or after the area where the raw water is put into the exhaust, for cooling the exhaust? 2004 G.M 5.7L Crusaders thanks

Re: Flappers

the flappers your hearing about are on sterndrive y-pipes which join both banks of cylinders and make a common exit through the sterndrive

how well they work and what they will prevent is a littel harder to say because many motors with them still get water in them

tommays

I saw a company with flappers in the exhaust that ran dry before the mixing point. i can not remember the name. Looked cool.

Re: Flappers

I would think that most would have exhaust shutters after the point that the raw water was introduced, to cool them......;)
