Flapper Valve

recently I changed the prop on my boat and noticed a steel "pin" about 4in long lodged in the hub and had no idea where it came from. Searching throught the shop manual I traced it to the flapper valve pin. I removed both exhaust elbows and found the flapper valve on the starboard side was missing. I got a new valve and replaced it but I am concerened where the missing valve went. I don't think it could pass through the exhaust system and I am worried that it could block the exhaust and cause problems

I have a '96 5.0 penta with cobra sx drive is there a "easy" way to check for exhaust blockage?

Thanks
Wayne

Re: Flapper Valve

Pull the outdrive, they usually get lodged right in the front of the drive.

Re: Flapper Valve

I really don't want to take it in right now. How "bad" is it to wait untill the winter service?
