Can anybody help me with the best method and cleaning product to use for cleaning my flame arrestor? If it matters it is for a 1990 7.4 Bravo. Thanks in advance.

Re: Flame arrestor

I use whatever gasoline I have laying around. An air compressor is also great if you happen to have one.

I've had good luck with soaking them in a solution of hot water and grease cutting dish washing soap, then brushing them with a stiff brush, then rinsing with clean water and allowing them to air dry.

Should I be able to see light through them when they're clean like an air filter?

The dishwasher works really well. But your wife might not like it very much.
