I am planning on going to the Marathon area spring 2002. Any on offer a nice place to stay, as well as various charters available. Off shore for Game fish, & Flats for Tarpon.

PURSUIT,

MY PARENTS SPEND A MONTH EVERY YEAR ON ISLAMORADA. THEY STAY AT THE LA SIESTA RESORT. IT'S A DECENT RESORT AND HAVE CONNECTIONS WITH GUIDES, ETC.

IF YOU TAKE A BOAT THEY HAVE SLIPS AVAILABLE IN THEIR OWN LAGOON.

We spent this past Christmas in Marathon. We rented a 3 bedroom house, located near the airport Gulfside, from American Carribean. The house had a dock with easy access to both sides via the 7 mile and Vaca Cut passes. Using the "fish 'n dive" charts, I had pretty good success with the fishing. Tarpon were massing under the 7 mile bridge. Will you be taking your own boat or going strictly charter?

La Jolla resort in Islamorada is nice with good dockage. Its a tight place so you can keep a good eye on your boat and stuff....

Look for bayside resorts in the Keys.. the water is smoother than oceanside and is easier for dockage.
