Re: Fla. Fishing
Hey Bud, New port richey is pretty close to me. I actually live in sumtter co. now ,but i have lived in hernando since 1973. i have been fishing salt water here for 28 years so i am sure somewhere along the line we have plugged the same salt.untill this year i have only fished the shore in the winter months because thats when they come inshore to warm water. i have caught thousands of trout, reds, and snook. Its good to here from someone in the area. This year i got a boat. now i have to start learning to fish the flats and bays. i must learn to find the fish in the summer. water temp. seems to be the key but i have to find out what temp. they like and when they like it. Because i have alot of salt time under my belt i have an advantage, but it will still be a fun challange. plus i will have diffrent kinds of fish to catch that i did not have acsess to before. i am looking forward to my first hookups with cobia, makrel( spanish and kings) amberjacks, permit, flounder and more... i can't wait. i have fished the fresh waters in the summer. now thanks to the state of FLA. i have a new challange. they have a system of fishing recegnition now. if you catch a fish of a certian weight or length you can get a big catch award and a specialist award for five in one species over the set limits and a masters award for one each of five differant species and an elite for ten differant species over the set limits. sounds like a challange to me. looking at the list here in front of me i don't see anyone from our neck of the woods. what are they trying to say here. central FLA. dose'nt have and good pole throwers or what. we must step up to the challange for the gauntelet( however you spell it) has been thrown down and the lines drawn. now that said i just have to divide up my fishing time. well its late and i must go but please write me back. if i can help you in any way let me know. see ya.
