I have a Long trailer for my 16' boat. What I need to do is change the bunks to roller bunks and paint the trailer. This trailer was never painted still plain metal. I don't have anywhere to leave the boat over night. So what I need to know is how to remove the boat from the trailer with out launching the boat! What i was thinking is making a dri -dock but in my yard. Any ideas would help me to do this would helpful!

Re: Fixing tailer

That trailer is galvanized and should not be painted.

To get the boat off just lower the tongue to the ground, block up the rear corners of the hull, raise the tongue, block the keel and work the trailer out from under it.It will take several times blocking the keel to get the trailer out but this method would work great for that size of boat.

You can get the spray cans of cold galvanize spray but i would not use regular paint.
