I have two of these inside the boat, on the interior sidewall, one near the controls or capt. seat and one directly opposite. I happended to see them while on a parts search....
My bimini attaches to a small hook towards the front of the windshield on the outside of the hull, so how would these things work. Parts catalog says they are bimini attachement points....i know.....dumb....but i have been wondering since i bought the boat what in the heck they were. Mounted longwise, with the threaded part horizontal pointing towards the interior...of course the ones I have dont have any screws in em....

Possibly for the Bimini before yours? Hardware is orphaned all the time. Easier to let it stay in place then to repair the gel coat below....

They are for side mounting instead of the more common top mounting on the gunnels.

Those are what we call 'side mounts' for a bimini or bimini stiff bar. The screw goes through the 'eye end' on your bimini frame/stiff bar. Sounds to me like yer boat at one time had a bimini that stacked fwd on stiff bars?
