Re: fising/trolling motor battery usage
You mean fishing 5 or 6 hours with intermittent T/M use, or that much run time? Anyway, sounds risky to me, wouldn't recommend it. But I know how annoying it is to ask a "how-to" question and get answers that say "don't."

But really I don't know of anybody that does that - most everbody gets a separate deep-cycle for the T/M. I just started using two 12v in parallel to get enough power for all day. You'd want to monitor it closely until you get accustomed to how fast it drains. My guess is, not more than an hour, hour and a half between high-speed runs with the main engine (depends on your alternator characteristics, and how much juice it takes to crank the motor - small outboard takes way less than a big inboard). But bring a voltmeter & check it more frequently 1st time out; probably need to keep it up around 12+ volts for cranking. Might want to practice pull-starting your big motor just in case.

With respect to the rest of your electrics, it's possible it might generate noise on your sonar. Kind of like if you're watching TV & somebody turns on a power saw plugged into the same circuit. And it'll give you a sizeable voltage drop when you turn it on so your more sensitive electronics might be affected, but just while it's running.

That's just my thoughts, I'm no expert - anybody else please jump in.
