Hey I am a member of a local Fire Department in Bucks County PA. We are going to sponser a tournament this spring to benifit the departemnts ever growing marine unit. The marine unit routinely assists and protects the boaters of our area on the Delaware river. Species run from biggggg cats to strippers to small mouth, and everything in between. We are making this an afforeable entry fee and couple it with a pig roast. I would love to know if there are any body in this area that would be interested in helping us support a great cause and have a really fun day in beautiful Bucks county. If you guys have any ideas on what catagories to have let me know we are new to this and we want to make this a fun day for all to attend. Thanks Stuart

Re: Fishing Tournament on the Delaware River

Stuart, There are plenty of anglers in this neck of the woods willing to fish tournaments, in fact some of these guys are addicted to them. Are you planning on launching at Neshaminy? The river is a pretty hairy place to navigate, lots of rocks. You need a jet boat to get around a good bit of it. Not so bad at neshmiany.

It will be a lot easier to have a single species to target for a tourney. The pig roast sounds like a great idea.

I am involved with the local fishing web site, and also moderate it. Post up your thoughts there, you'll get plenty of response from anglers locale to the bucks county area.

www.just4thought.com

Go to forums and click on tournaments

Hey, thanks for the reply. Alot of us fish between Washington Crossing Bridge and the Scudders Falls Bridge. We were thinking of utilizing the Yardly access for the entry and weigh in. The Upper Makefield Fire House will be the site of the pig roast. Yes rocks are a concern, some of us use Jets but most just hang in the middle and do rather well. Thank you for the invitation to post on your site, i am sure it will be of great value. Thanks for your thoughts, Stuart
