Fishing Rod Sugestions

I am looking for a new rod and reel. I have decided on an Abu Garcia Revo SX baitcaster reel, now I need to choose a rod. This rigs primary use will be medium to large suckers fishing for bass and northern pike. What are everyones thoughts on a good rod to pair with the evo sx?

angelo1369, If I was in your shoes I'd probably go down to Outdoor Pro Shop and start picking up rods and bending them on the floor. Bass Pro Shop is another place you might want to take the time to go visit. Don't consider brand or price until you find one you really like. Then go find something as close as you can to that in your price range.

As a side note: I have one rod that's caught more fish than any other rod I own and I found it at Longs Drug Store. It was probably stolen from some other store and returned to Longs because Longs never ever carried Lamiglass. Keep your eyes open, you never know where you'll find that perfect deal on a perfect rod.

If I were you I would go with the STX for the dual brake system but the SX is a nice reel.

How much are you looking to spend?

I would look for something around 7', med/hvy, fast tip. I've been partial to Shimano, but, there's a lot of good brands out there. St Croix if you don't mind spending a little extra......
