We are heading up to Bass Lake in early July. I am assuming the Kokanee's will be the predominant bite. Any folks here fish up there? If so do you have any good bate sugestions.

I was thinking simple line counter with a 3 - 4 oz wieght and lake troll on it but what do you folks use for lures?

Re: Fishing at Bass Lake CA in July

I'm fisihing Almanor and Eagle Lake in June and going over to Shasta then Trinity in July I'll work my way back through Whiskeytown and then slide over to Orville and finally end up at Berryessa around August. I'll be fishin all the streams that I can along the way also. Hadn't thought of Bass Lake but I might go have a look for a couple of days. I'd probably fish it with lead core and a night crawler on a Uncle Larry's trolled slow at about 1.50mph max. to start. If that didn't do it, I'd try a red-dot frog or a double jointed medium sure catch in watermellon trolled at 2 mph at about 15 ft.
