I just got done taking an inventory of my rods. eegads  I have over 70. Some are my sons.

Now will some of you guys please tell my wife that it is absolutely possable that the little buggers procreate when the lights are out. There just is no other explanation. Darn rods!! I treat each and everyone with tender loving care and this is the thanks I get. Little buggers have nothing better to do in the winter but to get me in hot water with the wife. If things dont get cleared up those lousy rods will get nothing but cheap bargin brand mono on em this year!!! That'll show em. :D Might even leave em out in the boat at night far enough away from each other so as they cant touch!!! lets see em produce spawn then!!!

Re: Fishin rods

I think they start spawning in the spring Flahthead. Its the same with lurse. Mine have multiplied and grown to extreme lengths in a matter of a few months. Had to buy a bigger cage to put them in. It must be in the water.. :D

Re: Fishin rods

ladyfish has the idea. Got to use fishing rod propholactics. I heard there is a patch coming out that works well even if it gets wet.

And roscoe. Go to gander mountian and get some fishing pole viagra. Works wonders for making many fishing poles

Re: Fishin rods

So the kid comes over today and I give him his fair share of the rods. First and formost I had him get his fenwick out of there, that bugger is just a snobish thing and will not admit to his 20 or so illigitement(sp) offspring. Next problem I have is the Penn slamer over in the corner, its a big tough old rod, not to be takin lightly, Why if I did not know better I would think he is the ring leader of the whole bunch, I'll pass him off with the kid also. Next I will deal with MR. St croix, typical frenchman shmoosin the ladys, alot of those whimpy rods with no backbone must be a result of his advances. I got news for him, all his little ones are going to the goodwill for the less fortunate. Still have about 25 or so to deal with, but after today I think they learned a lesson. Next I will threaten em with ladyfish's little gizmo she posted,, I know they wont like that.

Dont know what your doing wrong Roscoe but they are breedin like rabbits over here.

God I need to go fishin!!!!

Flahthead, you wouldn't happen to have a 6.5' or 7' medium-heavy action long handled graphite baitcast rod that you would be willing to let out for stud service, would you? got a couple spinning rods just comming into heat...

Re: Fishin rods

Just hatched a new one at my house on Saturday. Must o' been one of my baitcasters with one of my trout rods because the offspring is a nice stout spinning rod I've named Shimano(i just like the way it sounded) that looks like it wants to do battle with large toothy critters. I think I'll take the lad to the river for a little tiger action. I usually hatch about one or two a year here and no one seems to notice the increase in population yet. ;) SHE keeps gettin' grandkids - I keep gettin' rods

Re: Fishin rods

Never had any rods multiply this winter, but my reels sure had a good time, Got about a half dozen on Ebay right now, had to put some up for adoption! I have a feeling I have a few rods that are in the family way though!
