make 'er happen KaGee.. good stuff for tough applications.

get a quality snips to keep handy tho.

I just used it on tue. afternoon out on a river and it worked well .. but due to the conditions (freezing) it carry's a lot of water and will booger up your reels and rod guides with ice faster than you can shake a stick.

I have it on two of my rods and landed a 40" plus Musky with it..Walmart here is starting to carry it..Must say though folks with bigger hands will have an adventure when doing a tie on..

Used it on Lake Erie last year KaGee and landed some nice eyes off Kelly Island...I will say you can smoke alot of line on your reel even at 20Lb. test.

You may want to experiment KaGee..Its pretty thin stuff..Palamar(sp) is what I use..Slippage by a bad tie has been my problem..

I have lost more fish by not takn my time and doing it right..Not only do I lose a fin but also a ten to twenty dollar lure..Now that hurts knowing some fisherman who is playing the bottom may get lucky someday and get my lure

One thing I have found when tying a knot with Power Pro is make sure to lubricate the knot with a little spit before drawing it tight. I use a palomar and once it is cinched I have never had a problem.

Palomar knot on the powerPro has never failed for me. Improved clinch will just slip right out.

Put some mono backing on your reel else it will slip around the spool. Better that way cause you can save money by using less. The color washes out pretty fast - some folks use magic marker to recolor the bottom 10 feet or so but I never bother. Get a flat felt-tip marker & cut a slit in the tip & just run the line thru it. Otherwise it lasts forever.

It takes a real sharp knife to cut it - forget about using your teeth. And careful if it gets tangled around your rod tip you can't always shake it loose like with mono.

If you get hung up wrap it around a screwdriver handle or something rather than pulling with your hands, it will cut you like a knife!

A 20 to 30lb Musky will put a little more pressure on the line when comparing it to a five or eight Lb. fin..I sometimes get lazy on a tie and still throw it out there..And sure enough a lunker hits it. Nothing like putting a hard set on and then feel your line go slack, like feather weight slack..I know when its comes back frayed on the end i always have the excuse(lie) that I got bit off.. :D

Re: Fishin Line

Thanks all for the input. Gonna go to Wally World and pick up some.

Sounds like pretty strong stuff. My buddie claims he can feel the bite 10x better than any other line he's used. Real important when jigging for pre-spawn 'Eyes.

Thanks J for the tip on the spool filler, was thinking about that. Deepest water in Erie on my side is 30-35 feet. We usually fish much shallower than that in the early spring. No need for tons of line on the spool except for my trolling rods, but that's a differrent horse altogether.

KaGee..I hear they lowered the limit again this year on the Eyes ..Have you Heard yet whether they have or not..I know they are coming down hard on the snaggers when the Eyes start running during spawn time..

From now until April 30th in Erie or any tributary, daily limit of 3, minimum length 15". Upped to 6 on May 1st, same length. I don't remember the minimum length before... I believe that's new.

The snagging is and has been highly monitored in the river up here. Ya never know who is fishing next to you. Personally, I have given up on that mess... it's a zoo down there. The jigging we do is out on the big lake. Either in the mouth of the Maumee Bay ( a stagging area for the river run) or out on the reefs where the majority of Erie Eyes spawn anyways.

I concure....I've found nothing yet, that will out-perform Fireline when using jigs...
