Re: Fisher 16 Dominator

Replacing the carpet on a Dominator is gonna be pricey. Lots of labor and lots of expensive carpet. A real good job is gonna run $1000+

How is the wood under the carpet? Probably need to replace some of that too if the carpet has been abused already.

It MIGHT be worth $4000, but in this market, I think you could do better.

I would keep looking, that is a pretty premium price for something that needs that much work.

With things where they are i am sure you can find a boat ready to go for that much $, be patient and keep looking, your boat will turn up.

I know I looked for a long time before I found mine, almost pulled the trigger on a couple because I was tired of looking but I am glad I didn't.

At any rate the boat will probably still be around for a while if nothing else turns up.

Offer him $2,500 and walk if he doesn't take it. I'd leave him my phone # though... reality is going to set in within a month or two.

I recently bought a 16' fiberglass flats boat with a 50HP Nissan that needed only the carbs cleaned (sat in the old mans garage for 3 years) complete with many extras.... trolling motor etc for $2,000.00

I had looked at 12 or so boats before I got that one. Some I never even made an offer on. Funny that within a couple weeks of finally making a purchase I started getting calls from guys that I'd made offers too.

Right now it's a buyers market that is only going to get better in the next few months.

A prime example is the local "boat show" here which is a very very large event scheduled for the end of Feb every year is having great difficulty selling space..... this show has been going on for over 30years and they've never had to "agressively" market space to vendors until this year... of course many dealers and manufacturers have either gone under or have suspended production. Even the aftermarket equipment and accessories dealers are in great pain at this point.
