Hey, all! I'm from Dayton Ohio...the place with the worst fishing in the world! Does anybody know of anywhere good (big or small lake) in the Columbus-Inianapolis-Cincy area? Let me know.

Thanks

I don't fish...at all.
But, friends do fish @ Brown Resivior just east of Springfield, and Ceasers Creek - kinda near Lebanon.
You are not too far from Indian Lake either, lots of Dayton area folks there.

Re: fish Ohio

Welcome aboard PCM..From Southern Ohio here..You will find a few of us here are from Ohio..As a true ridgerunner here I can tell you there are some nice lakes here...Depending on what you are huntn for..

Caesars Creek is a good place to hunt the fin once you get to know the area...Bass,Saugers and the whisker can be found here..Word of caution here..In the summer on the weekends there are about five speed boats per acre..

Alum Creek is where I do most of my Gator huntn..Bass,saugers,cats and other pooter fins are numerous....Right now water temps are in the high 70s.. Once the temps come down to the low 70s the fishn wil really turn on

RockyFork is another one..I don't fish there much because of all the sewage they still are letting into the lake...

Cowan is an awesome lake for gills and crappies but it has aa ten Horse limit...

Hope this helps..<Many here know what i do the most of, the Musky..If it has teeth I am there..Good luck maybe see ya on the water some time..

Next year we are planning on a another get together at Saltfork again in May...

Re: fish Ohio

I am a bass / crappie fisher. Occasionally cats. I just got a boat, so I'm going to start looking for good sauger/walleye/musky areas.

Where do you hit musky at gonfishn?

I hate Caesars, though it is close to me. Maybe I'd have better luck out there now that I have my boat? Buck Creek sooms to be ok. Never heard of Alum Creek, where is it?

Since I always fished from ashore, I am just now getting curious as to the big lakes since I got the boat.

What do you do with the get-togethers? Do you post that stuff in here? I'm all for fishing trips! Anytime you want someone to go fish with, let me know. I have a little secret lake that is bass heaven (10-30 bass per hour)if you're interested!! Let me know, we'll find a way to hit the lakes.

PCM, Alum Creek is north of Columbus. Take I-70 east to I-270 north. Then take I-71 north to the St Rt 36/37 exit. Go left & follow the signs. Can't miss it!
Happy huntin'!

Re: fish Ohio

gonfishn, where in southern ohio do you live? From Portsmouth myself and fish alot of the River down here, well try to she hasn't been to happy here lately. Just courious. As for Ohio fishing, Rocky Fork great lake BIG bass in there just watch out for all those pleasure boaters. Best to make a trip on a weekday. As you proablly know its an unlimited horsepower lake so you get alot of them.... If your looking for a quantity instead of mass try Rocky's neighboring lake Paint Creek. I've taken alot of bass out of there this year. Fish the the slopes and drop off's on the rocky banks. If theres no fish there move out to the channels and fish deep running cranks and carolinas for bass.
