afriend often fished lake erie for walleye his fish finder showed the walleye as red symbols. he has since passed and i cant find that fish finder he had. does anyone know of this. and what type it might be. sure like to find one.

I wasn't doubting u Licket... I was serious!!! My good friend has been begging me to go to Honeyoye lake for walleye with him. Neither of us have ever been walleye fishing and would be taking his 16' Starcraft. No fishfinder on that boat... YET!!! But if u could find that fishfinder u described I WILL BE NEXT IN LINE TO GET ONE!!!

Hummingbird used to have a model named the 4id that showed fish in red.Don't know if that is what you are talking about or not.Good luck.

I knew it to good to be true!!! Imao!!! I once seen a fishfinder that would tell u what kind of trout it marked... how it knew was beyond me.

It probably all in red. Even the U.S Navy sonar can't tell the different between a whale and a submarine if they both laying still.

Do people really belive that a simple fishfinder can distinguish between species of fish? The only way to tell is to catch one and bring it up to the surface.

My FF displays bass and walleye in white.

Background is also white..very hard to see !

I never believed that fishfinder anyway... I watched a carp swim under the boat and it marked it as a BT... a school of bullhead were marked as LT. It was a joke!!!
