Fish Finder & GPS Mounting

Hello again. I have a 1996 Stratos 258 that i just purchased, and I am at a loss of where to mount my Humminbird 580 and the GPS dome. Any ideas are welcome. Also, does the GPS dome have to be mounted flat ? One more question, the spedo and tach are not working, Any way to test them ?Thanks again, Dave

You might try to repost the GPS part of this in Electronics vvvvvvv Dive Captain, dive . . . ooooohgaaawww . . . Might be as simple as mounting to the gunnel or top of the transom? What about next to the stern light mounting? That 258 has little windshields right? What about right in front of one of those?

I assume the speedo is a Pitot tube type? If so, make sure the opening is clear and you can blow into the end and see if the needle moves. As far as the Tach is concerned, I guess I'd want to know if there was power to it first.
