Just got into boating this year and want to learn to ski and kneeboard. I was able to get out of the water with the skis but when I try to stand I fall to the side. Any tips would be appreciated.

Re: first time skier help

Hello:

The best advise I can give is this.

Have the driver tighten the rope and keep the engine in gear at idle. Whatever foot you have in front, put the rope on the other side. sit on your back foot with your front knee as close to your chest as you can get it. When you are ready, yell hit it and hold that position until you are no longer getting wet, the slowly stand up. If the ski starts to go to one side or the other, go with it. Don't try to control your direction until you are standing and ballanced.

If you are falling to the side, then you probabally have the skiis too close together. Spread your legs so that the skis are shoulder width apart.

Believe it or not, getting out of the water was the hardest for me.Try sitting with your butt barley on the edge of a dock, when driver hits it--kinda leap/stand,it was easier for me.You'll go down to about knee deep in the water then, pop up,and wala!!! Your doing it!!dude11
