Yesterday my friend and I took my new to me 1989 invader V210 cuddy cabin out for the first time. The boat is in like new condition equipped with a 5.7L 260HP Bravo 2 2:1 ratio (not sure why) and a a custom cupped 25P prop. It has been tuned and runs perfect, The boat jumps up on plane effortlessly with out even opening the secondaries and cruised very nice between 2500 2800 rpm at about 25mph. I only ran it for a few moments at WOT and hit better than 45 MPH (GPS on Phone) but my rpms were only at 4000 - 4100. I did not play with trim to see if it brought the RPM up. It is my understanding that this motor should have a WOT closer 4500 RPMs. Bravo 2 Props are way expensive so it is kind of tough to fine tune at $500 a prop. My question will it hurt anything the way it is or do I be looking to spend $$$ on a 23 or 21 pitch to raise RPM.

You need to trim it up and see what you get.
I think you'll be all right while you sort things out if you can get it to 4200 or more fully trimmed.
You could have your prop modified to gain some rpm. I've seen cup removed that vastly improved
performance. Or they might remove a little pitch.

Thanks for the advice steelspike I will play with the trim next time out to see if I can get the RPMs up to 4200 - 4300 I would be happy with that. Performance is not an issue in my opinion the boat is over powered (not a bad thing :D) jumps on plane and cruises along very nice between 2600 and 3000 RPMs and it will hardly ever see WOT. Most of my research has told me to try and prop towards the upper end of the WOT RPM range so the engine doesn't work as hard. Will report back next time out hope to have the new chartplotter installed by then to have constant speed on screen.
