Hate to admit it but finally pulled a "smooth one" to post. Out fishing with the family today and forgot to pull the trolling motor up before "blasting" across the lake to another spot. My wife not so nicely reminded me I had a problem. Thank goodness she noticed the new trolling motor working its way up the transom. Moral of the story "LESSON LEARNED" after nearly dumping my new Minn Kota in the lake.

we have been there. forgot stringers of fish, trolling motor plug ect... havent sunk on eyet though.

Sounds like something I will do before to long..... I pulled a smooth one as well. Took the old gale 35hp outboard off my boat because i thought it was siezed up. I figured I would salvage parts off of her. Got her busted down go to pull the block off and I notice my gear shift was bent all to hell. It was'nt siezed, it was just fine just needed the gear shift straightened.... I am still ticked I didn't notice this....

Retrieving my new-to-me Aquasport this weekend and as I start climbing the ramp my wife lets out a blood curdling scream to stop. Jumped out and realized I forgot to raise the outboard. Did this once before - the sound sticks with you for a while...

Eeeeaaaaak yea that sound is just as bad as bumping the starter while your truck is allready running....

Do that with a bass boat and front mount trolling motor, it doesn't climb up the transom, it just breaks the he** out of the mounting bracket arms......don't ask how I know.

uhhhhhhhh, yeah, kinda embarrassed at that one as well............... took weeks for a new bracket
