After spending my life living on the coast and fishing/boating saltwater rivers and bays I got my first taste of lake boating since moving to Tennessee. I got the boat running (thanks to help on this board) after a minor electrical glitch and took the family out on the lake. Found a cove to anchor in and throw out a couple of lines. Here come the jet skis- running back and forth and around us. So we picked up and move- and two boats come and anchor within 50 yards and the passengers start cannonballing off the swimdeck. Move again, here come the jet fleas . Maybe it is just me, but folks on the coast (and I've lived from SC to TX) seem much more courteous. Best thing I saw all day- a 42 foot Bertram Sportfisherman at full throttle running up this lake that is no more than 1/2 mile wide.
