I picked the boat up from the shed, topped off the trailer tires and gassed it up. It was a short trip to the boat ramp and an easy launch except that my middle daughter helpfully pulled the kill lanyard loose, hung it back and didn't mention it. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out why the engine would turn over but not start. After that it was smooth sailing (figuratively). It had been 90 degrees here in central Georgia all week and of course was cool and breezy by the time I could get free to go boating. I think the water was actually warmer than the air. We did find a fairly sheltered area for some wakeboarding and the chop in the nonsheltered areas made the tube riding more exciting. There was no entertainment at the ramp and everyone had a good time. I hope everyone else has as good a first day out.
