Hello,

I recently purchased my first boat, and I believe it is a 1967 Starcraft Speedqueen based on pictures of some older models I’ve seen online (can anyone confirm?) The title for the boat just said 1967 aluminum boat so I had to do some digging. It came with a 1996 25hp Envinrude, which has run very well after a good clean and a few minor adjustments.
I would like to find a windshield for it, does anyone know where I should start to look for one?
I also plan on painting the boat, so I’m looking for any tips or advice, as I haven’t painted a boat before & don’t want to ruin it!
Anyway, I look forward to hearing from some of you and learning as much as I can!

You have a nice classic boat. Not many around any more. Only a classic boat aficionado would appreciate it.

Strip the paint as best as you can, sand it smooth and then prime the aluminum with zinc chromate (acid etching) primer. Top coat with any marine grade topside paint. Tip and roll.

Your boat would not have come with a windshield, so adding one would not be period correct. Google "marine metal frame Plexiglas windshield". They are out there but will probably need to be custom made. A dime a dozen 40 years ago, but not much call today.

I appreciate the advice! Definitely didn’t know what I had when I found it but certainly appreciate the classics & want to try my best to keep it as nice as possible.
