Re: firing order and cylinder location

If its anything like my '86 150HP then its just 1-2-3-4-5-6 with the port bank being 2-4-6 starting at the top and the starboard side being 1-3-5.

My '98 Johnny 150HPV6 has the same firing order. 1-2-3-4-5-6

They're all the same be it V-4 or V-6.

As long as they are 60* V motors, right Boobie?

No. Both 60* and 90* are the same. If you know something different post it back.

Gee, My 90* Fat Fifty was not 1-2-3-4. (1-4-2-3??)

I thought the 60*V motors could fire smoothly in order, since cylinders are 60* apart. 90*V motors fire every 60* as well, but cylinders are 90* apart vs 60* apart.

Are you sure about the Fat Fifty ?? Yeah, I know it had a magneto. Check some newer BRP service manuals on the 90* motors and see what they say.

I just checked around and the opinions I got the firing order on the Fat Fifty was 1-2-3-4.

Surprising. Although I have no clear memory, I did not think it was that. The distributor cap had the numbers of the cylinders molded into it, so you could not mess it up easily. I guess I never looked close.....

Start a new thread in the correct section. You have a Mariner, not a Johnson or Evinrude.
