I have a 1995 40hp Force engine. I tried to crank it last weekend and it wouldn't start. I checked the spark at the plugs with a clip on spark plug tester and had a spark at both plugs. I added a fuel mixture and sprayed that into the carb, but it would not fire.

This makes no since, I had it running a couple weeks ago with no problem. I always thought that with fuel, spark and compression it should fire up, or at least hit a few times. Compression was 95 on the top cylinder and 100 on the bottom.

I did take the fuel line loose from the carb and had good fuel output when I primed the line. However when I turned the engine over to check fuel output it seemed to be a little weak. Maybe it was suffectient, I am use to seeing the fuel output from a V8 engine and this wasn't that strong. I thought with fuel straight into the carb would be enough to fire up.

Am i missing something, maybe a sensor, relay or something? I did check the 20amp fuse on the side of the engine and it was ok.

Thanks for any help.
