Besides Doel-Fin with the one or two piece fins are their other players who make hydrofoil stabilizer fins...???Also, does it matter how far the fins extend the cavitation plate, seems the two piece stops where the plate ends and the one piece comes out over it bout 2-3 inches?? thanx

Howdy WJJWB2. I have a SE Sport 300 hydrofoil on my Montauk/Suzi DF70 and Doel-Fins on my sons Montauk/Merc 90 2S.

I think the SE300 works better. My boat rides smoother and is almost as fast as my son's.

I guess to be fair I must mention that my Suzi is on a 4"setback plate.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

I know you guys are going to think I'm crazy, but I drew one out on cardboard the way I thought I could get the best perfomance, and then cut a piece out of stainless steel. I bolted that sucker on my 28 Evinrude and it works better than anything else!

tg

OK.. we have a new player with the fins< I have seen the SE300 fins but cannot recall who makes them,Marine Science,I think,I don't recall the manufacturer, I think they have the SE200 and SE300 depending on HP of your engine, Is there a web site or cat. you can refer me to. they are impressive and not as stream lined as Doel. Thanx

Check out adventuremarine.net, this canadian guy has been making these aluminim foils for 3 decades. They work very well, without the loss in top end, as they are very thin. The cost is very reasonable for a very high quality product. You will be impressed!
