Finding out my engine type without serial number.

Hello guys. This is my first boat ever and I am having some problems.
Boat - 2000 blue water blazzer
Engine - Volvo penta
Leg - Volvo penta sxm

I have the serial number and information for the leg as I have already had to do the trim lines and bellows.

When shutting down the engine it stays on for a few seconds and kinda sputters. Thoughts ?

I am also trying to figure out the serial number or engine type as I would like to order some parts.

It's a 3.0

Check your idle speed and timing, and cooling system

If your timing is advanced, or you are running hot, it will diesel (run-on)

Let idle for a minute before keying off. That should prevent it from running on
