Can not read stickers on engine bracket , there is two one on each side ,

Understand there is metal stamped size of a quarter someplace on engine ,
Those of you that know this engine , where can this be found , I was told behind starter ? Is this accurate , hate too pull parts ,

from what I have read and seen it is not a metal stamp, it is a round sticker with a serial number for your motor.
you can use that to get the model on Yamahas site

The model identity is on a decal that is attached to the clamp bracket. On that same decal is what Yamaha calls the primary ID. PID.

If the decal on the clamp bracket is gone then there is another decal on the block that provides the serial number of the motor. That decal is usually in the vicinity of the starter motor. With that serial number one might can get to the model identity and the PID.

If the block has been replaced the round decal will no longer be there.
