Finding fish in my lake

Bought a Lowrance Elite 5 DSI fishfinder. It did not include an sd card. I am on a lake in Virginia and want to set up the fishfinder for finding fish. Where do I go and what do I get?

Are you expecting a map to show you where fish are? Ain't going to happen. You need a map for your lake which, if available, would be available at any store that sells locators and accessories. You still need to find the fish on any given day using the locator as a tool.

Once you get hits,mark the way points and you can return to the same spots when you have like conditions.A complete fish strike map of the lake.
