Does anyone know a good online source for inexpensive Yamaha outboard parts for an 1985 150hp. I'm presently looking for the oil pump that fits behind the external oil tank. Also, any ideas on whether I should just disconnect the external oil tank and just add the oil to the gas... Thanks

Re: finding an external oil pump for yamaha outboardesivor

There is no inexpensive parts for a Yamaha. The pump should list for $119.76. No one ever said this hobby would be inexpensive. Be advised that Yamaha doesn't mix their oil with the fuel before entering the carbs. The oil is injected into the intake after the carbs. Mixing the oil with the fuel will change the weight of the fuel and could possibly cause a lean fuel mixture. Maybe you can find a good used pump somewhere. Just go out there and beat the bushes.
