I am replacing one mercury motor with a bigger older one, the steering cable is the same, but I like an idiot must have sent a steering piece with the other motor. Let me see if I can explain this correctly on what I need, ok the cable/rod end goes in front under the transom under the motor. Then the motor has a ball type hook up, now there is a piece that connects these two so they work together....I can't find one anywhere and I am about to go insance, cause I don't even know the freakin name of the bar I am looking for. Did any of this make since to anyone? Thanks if your able to help!!

Find a parts diagram for your motor. Look up "swivel bracket and steering arm". The part you're looking for is called a link assembly. Be sitting down when you view the price.

hope it helps

Sneakersupplier -- what part of no commercial activity do you not understand. Put on a pair of Air Jordans and sneak your butt out of here.

Silvertip....who are you talking to? Did I miss something?

J_Martin, thanks for the help. I actually was able to find a used one a selling site used for 12.99...plus shipping. So I am ordering, thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I suspect a user called Sneakersupplier tried to sell you a link assembly by direct offer, and has since been discovered and expunged from the board, including the post neither of us saw.

Just a guess. It had to be pretty blatant to raise the ire of Silvertip like that.
