Running a couple weeks late this year. April and May weather just didn't cooperate. In fact, it's raining again right now. Anyway, I expect the boat transporter at the house around 2:00 this afternoon and I have my crew lined up. Hoping the rest of the summer weather is better than the start.

Did the rest of you DIY'ers get held up by the weather this year?

Yeah we're late by about 3 weeks from previous years, it wouldn't stop being windy and raining with low temps on the weekends and then suddenly bam summer was here. Lots of water from way more snow that we usually get, dams are spilling like mad.

I'm about a week or 2 behind. Cooler / wet weather has not helped and a few extra things busted this year that added to the list.

Dunked mine last evening between thunderstorms. Got about 2 hours on the rebuild (after getting 1.5 hours on the muffs). Didn't take her over 2400, but she was smooth! Very responsive also. When I got the 115 it had a large fin on the cavitation plate. The 140 does not, and the slow speed handing of the boat is amazing. I did not realize how much of a pain that foil was! Yeah! I am a happy man right now! Just need the time to take her out again ... was going to do that this morning, but ended up with several trees on power lines and extricating a man from a roof ... he was shingling his room when he had a seizure. I got in from calls at 1:30 this afternoon ... time to hit the office ...

Well, the weather cleared here suddenly yesterday, an hour before the transporter showed up. Like somebody upstairs flipped a switch, and it turned into a beautiful afternoon. The hauler was on time, the tow and launch were smooth and the boat ran like a champ when I ran her to my slip. This morning I set the permanent dock lines and checked the bilge. She's dry, and all the electrical stuff is working. I'll say no more for fear of tempting the fates...

Here's to a great boating season for all of us.

JoLin, where are the Splash Pictures? You know the rules, it didn't happen without pictures.

Today is splash day for my Formula 330 . . . I'll try to get some pictures :)

It always seems like a struggle to get the boat ready. I keep track of the time doing the maintenance, repairs and other prep work. This year was about 70 hours total.

Key maintenance/repair items this year were:

Bravoitis fix on both outdrives
New stereo - old one bit the dust
Engine Idle issue - replaced plenum gaskets on both engines
Structural bonding of cockpit sole to stringer grid (at mid-ship)
New fuel filters - I change them every 3-4 years
New shower sump pump unit - old one bit the dust.
Plus all the 'normal' stuff of anti-fouling paint, cleaning, etc.

At the last minute, I noticed that the port outdrive trim pump was puking oil . . . not sure if it a leaky reservoir or if one of the fittings was loose. I found one fitting not so tight. That story is to be continued . . . but the boat hauler arrives around 8:30 this morning. I hope to have the boat launched and on its mooring by 10:00.

Saturday was only our 2nd trip out. Too windy or chilly or water too low is or we just had other things to do. Latest start in 20 years.
Glad you finally got out too and that it went well. I have noticed that there seems to be a lot less boating traffic than usual. I don't think there was near as much boaters out Memorial day as has been in the past. Not sure what is going on? Gas prices have been worse

Managed to get out in April, really wanted March though because I like sending photos on the boat to family in Michigan early in the season

... but I got rained out in May quite a bit. Back at it this weekend, but got rained out yesterday.
